From execution to orchestration
When an agent retrieves context, drafts material and performs routine checks, the employee's role shifts from mechanical execution toward framing the task, assessing exceptions and approving the result.
This does not automatically remove roles. New responsibilities often appear around knowledge maintenance, error review, rule design and colleague enablement.
A new unit of productivity
Minutes saved are incomplete. An agent may respond faster while creating rework if sources or boundaries are weak. Measure speed together with accuracy, escalation, recommendation acceptance and corrections.
- End-to-end cycle time
- Outputs accepted without rework
- Human escalation rate
- Quality from sampled review
Teams must see system boundaries
Trust increases when users understand the source and limitations of an answer. Interfaces should show sources, uncertainty and actions that require approval.
Transformation becomes durable when agent rules enter normal process governance rather than remaining hidden inside the technical team.
